The broadcasting world mourns the death of a veteran.

British radio host Tim Gough died October 24 at the age of 55 on the air during the morning breakfast. According to A news release from GenX Radio SuffolkGough suffered a suspected heart attack at 7:50 a.m. at his home in Lackford, Suffolk.

“Tim was a very accomplished and very talented broadcaster with an army of fans for his daily show,” the release said. “He is a very sad loss for radio and the county of Suffolk. The entire GenX Radio family is shocked and devastated beyond words.”

James Hazelmanaging director of GenX Radio Suffolk, described Gough as an experienced broadcaster of more than four decades and said the station was “heartbroken at the news” of his death.

“To know Tim personally, as I did very intimately for over 30 years, was to know a warm, caring, funny guy who was loved by me and my family,” Hazel continued. “I know his family is very comforted by the hundreds of messages of love that have been received and have asked for privacy at this devastating time.”
