VictoriaMetrics, a fast, scalable time series database monitoring solution, today announces the release of Managed VictoriaMetrics on AWS Marketplace.

The release marks an exciting addition to the company’s core open-source offering, which users install, configure and optimize themselves.

Instead, Managed VictoriaMetrics allows users to deploy a “production-ready” version of the solution on AWS that is fully supported by the startup’s support team. This reduces the complexity of monitoring for enterprises, freeing them from diverting resources to DevOps tasks such as configuration, maintenance, log collection, software updates, and backups.

Monitoring is simple

As demand for monitoring the time series database grows, VictoriaMetrics has surpassed 65 million docker pulls, one million GitHub downloads and 7000+ GitHub stars for an open source solution. Big businesses like Adidas, Open Cosmos and Semrush are members of its thriving community.

However, despite the market’s willingness to adopt monitoring, the complexity associated with installing and configuring open source solutions has become a stumbling block for some organizations. Many enterprises lack the in-house engineering capabilities or resources to run unique installations of the solution.

Roman Khavronenko, co-founder of VictoriaMetrics, said: “Our open source model gives businesses the freedom to adapt our solution to their specific needs. However, it requires dedicated teams to support, keep healthy and upgrade. A large portion of the market wants monitoring to “just work” for them from day one – input data, retrieve it. With Managed VictoriaMetrics, we take the complexity out of it by leveraging our own expertise and allowing us to provide a more granular level of support for users.”

A cost-of-scale solution

As the amount of data in organizations grows exponentially, the cost of scaling monitoring is a major challenge for many companies. Managed VictoriaMetrics builds on the industry-leading underlying scalability of VictoriaMetrics through its pricing structure, which does not involve additional costs when increasing bandwidth.

“The costs of the solution are easy to plan in advance because they are not dependent on unexpected changes in the workload, such as spikes in data rates, spikes in active time series or spikes in requests. The price depends only on the actual computing resources used – the instance type configured, the disk size requested and the output network bandwidth used.’ Khavronenko said.

Scalability is at the heart of the ethos of VictoriaMetrics, and managed VictoriaMetrics instances can be scaled up or down in a few clicks. The product can also be used as a managed Prometheus, easily integrating with a popular monitoring system.

Co-founders Roman Khavronenko, Artem Navayev, and Dima Lazerka will be at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022 to discuss the explosive growth of time series data use cases and how Managed VictoriaMetrics is opening up monitoring for all companies, regardless of size. .
