The Mail scoops journalism’s highest honor by taking home Business Journalist of the Year

Ruth Sunderland, Business Editor, Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday

Ruth Sunderland, Business Editor of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, was named Business Journalist of the Year.

She was presented with the prestigious award by the London Press Club at a ceremony at Stationers’ Hall in the heart of the Square Mile.

Praising her campaign and “sensible” commentary, the judges said: “Ruth Sunderland continues to deliver her insightful coverage of the biggest business, investment and economic stories of the day.”

Recent successes include the Save LV campaign to stop the sale of the historic mutual insurance company to private equity. A proposed £530m sale to Bain Capital was ultimately rejected by LV members after months of campaigning in this newspaper.
