PC gamers around the world will soon be able to pre-download the full version A sense of duty: Modern Warfare 2, hours before its official launch.

The release of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer is imminent – a week after some gained early access to the campaign – and it’s bringing a bunch of new featuresincluding new modes and a updated Armory system.

While the PlayStation and Xbox players had the option to preload the game a week earlier, PC gamers didn’t get the same treatment. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait long, as the game’s preload process will unlock quickly, giving you a day to prepare for its launch on Friday, October 28th.

Before downloading the whopping 72GB, you might also want to clean out your game library and say goodbye to some golden oldies first.

When can the Modern Warfare 2 preload start on PC?

If you’ve pre-ordered a digital copy of Modern Warfare 2 for PC, you’ll be able to start pre-loading the game so you’re ready to go when it launches.

Activision has confirmed that the pre-load for the game’s official launch, including multiplayer and special ops, will begin on October 26 at 18:00 BST. This date applies to you regardless of whether you purchased Modern Warfare 2 through Battle.net or Steam.

So if you haven’t figured it out, you still have time to jump in and complete the campaign only six hoursif you want to put in the effort… and maybe lose some sleep.

What are the system requirements for Modern Warfare 2 on PC?

If you’ve already equipped your PC with the latest hardware, you’ll be able to enjoy Modern Warfare 2’s high-end specs and play at high frame rates and 4K resolution.

You also don’t have to worry if you’re still messing around with old settings, as you’ll still be able to run the game comfortably at minimum specs without looking too tattered

Activision also notes that while these specs will be valid at launch, they’re bound to change with future updates or possibly the addition of DLC.

For laptop users, 4K gaming is still quite difficult, as even the best of them often prefer lower resolutions and higher frame rates, given that 4K gaming is taxing even on desktop hardware.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on Friday, October 28.
