Sunny weather shone today at the Yarmsky fair, thousands of people visited the popular event.

The Yoke Fair, which dates back to the 13th century, takes place in the town’s high street, ending tonight (Saturday, October 22).

Fairgoers enjoyed all the traditional rides people have come to expect, from dodgems to waltzers and fairground treats and games.

Also today, a centuries-old tradition known as horse driving or riding at the fair took place.

It involves horses galloping and trotting down the main street and dates back to when the 813-year-old Yarmo Fair was a livestock trading event.

The entire length of the main street will be closed to traffic at night while the fair is open.
