Trains are delayed due to signal failure.

One of the signals at Hurst Green, on the Kent/Sussex border, is stuck on red.

This affects trains from Oxted in Surrey to Uckfield and East Grinstead.

Southern Rail advises passengers to allow an extra ten minutes to their journey time.

A spokesman said: “One of the signals in the direction of Uckfield and East Grinstead is ‘stuck’ on red. This means that the driver must contact the signaler to pass the red signal. This process may take some time, therefore causing train delays.

“It’s at a junction where trains from Oxted go towards Uckfield or East Grinstead.

“There is no need to change your travel plans, but you should allow up to ten minutes extra time.”

An update at 9.42am confirmed that the disruption at Hurst Green is now clear.
