Sky has tonight provided an update following the outage that affected broadband customers in the Bolton and through the north-west.

There were reports of problems with internet services this morning.

A Sky spokesperson tweeted earlier today: “There is currently a multiple exchange outage in Lancashire affecting broadband, talk and fiber customers.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this outage.”

According to Down Detector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the health of various websites and services, outages were reported in Manchester, Bolton, Wigan and Salford,

The woman, from Preston, said: “It’s right down here. All morning.”

In the last two hours.

Engineers continue to work on solving the problem until the evening.

A spokesperson tweeted: Our support team is continuing to work tonight to restore service to all of our affected customers.

“We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”

One of them took to social media and said: “The mines have been down all day and still not back on. It’s not good if you work at home.”

Some customers took to Twitter to say they had lost connection in the early hours.
