Owen Farrell is one of a number of England players in doubt ahead of the autumn series

“The normal procedure is a 12-day suspension, but hopefully that will give him enough time to play in the first Tests,” Saracens coach Mark McCall said.

Exeter prostitute Cowen-Dickie is awaiting further details on her knee problem, while Northampton winger Lewis Ludlam has a thigh injury.

“Lewis’s hip index is pretty bad I think, but nothing structural is broken, that’s my medical version,” Northampton coach Phil Dawson said.

Dawson also confirmed that Lawes will see a specialist for his head injury.

“He practiced all day Tuesday and he had some symptoms,” Dawson said.

“We’re just looking after him and he’s coming back through the protocol, independent of that system, to make sure. I saw him yesterday on the bike and he said he was feeling good.

“He’s going to continue to lift weights and ride his bike and do all those activities. We will slowly get him back in touch when he is available and ready.

“It’s probably too early to say because it’s a day-to-day thing, so he’s going through that process. When it feels good, it goes to the next one, and the next one depending on how it goes.

“I think he’s probably going to see a specialist sooner and anyway.”
