Adventurer Koinich Rankin returns to BBC Alba tonight for the second series of Dàna: The Wild Side of Scotland.

The climber and runner will climb some of Scotland’s most dramatic mountains in a four-part series.

Starting on the uninhabited island of Mingulai in the Outer Hebrides, Rankin will be joined by climber Nicky Brierley.

In the second episode, Rankin teams up with Matt Glenn to tackle the Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye.

The Isle of Aran is the setting for the third episode, before Owen Sinclair joins Rankin to visit the Isle of Rhone.

“Filming the second series of Dàna: Scotland’s Wild Side was an incredible experience, but not without its challenges,” explained Rankin.

“The iconic Cuillin Range, explored in episode two, has always held an irresistible attraction for me and many other climbers drawn to the mystique and challenge of these incredible peaks.

“It’s a privilege to be able to explore these places and hopefully give people a unique view of the landscape of this country along the way.”

The series will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
