Chef Curtis Stone defended himself James Cordenafter he was banned by a New York restaurant for bullying the staff.

The Australian celebrity chef, 46, shared that the 44-year-old TV presenter “was an absolute gentleman” at his restaurant, calling him a “great guest” and saying he was always “friendly to the staff” in interviews TMZ.

“We never talk about our guests,” he added in reference to restaurant owner etiquette, before realizing he was contradicting himself, “Well, I just did, but I said something nice about him.”

The TV host also shared that he was “shocked” to hear the allegations about Corden’s behaviour.

The conversation came after a TMZ reporter asked Curtis how a customer could complain about a restaurant’s food.

“It depends on what the problem is,” Stone replied. “If something was done wrong, you have to let it go, but don’t be angry about it,” he said.

Stone then expanded on the owner’s protocol, saying it was “a bit inappropriate” to publicly complain about customers.

“We’re in the hospitality business and creating special moments for people, whether they’re celebrating or getting together with the people they love and care about. And sometimes they’re a lot of fun, and sometimes they’re a little crazy. We’re creating this safe place for them.”

“What happens in the restaurant, stays in the restaurant,” the photographer added, to which Stone replied, “Something like that.”

It comes after Corden said he had “done nothing wrong” after fiery restaurateur Keith McNally – owner of New York hot spot Balthazar – demanded the Late Late Show host apologize to his staff.

On Tuesday, Corden apologized for being rude to two young servers after being called out by the owner of Balthazar on Instagram.

However, in an interview with New York Times reporter on Friday, Corden broke his silence and said, “I did nothing wrong on any level.”

Responding to the interview, McNally wrote in a new Instagram post: “I don’t want to kick a man when he’s down, but I think this is the best way for James Corden to regain some of the tremendous respect that the public had to him before this incident. is to admit it and apologize to the young servers he offended.”

He added: “Whatever Corden meant, the implication was clear: he didn’t.”

The owner of Balthazar said that if Corden “apologizes to the two servers he insulted, I’ll let him eat free at Balthazar for the next 10 years.”

Corden went on to say in an interview with The New York Times that the conversation about the ordeal was “below” the publication after the reporter seemed grateful that Corden didn’t shut down the chat entirely.

Corden was banned from a restaurant in New York on Monday after McNally revealed he had verbally abused staff at his restaurant – and he lifted the ban a day later. The house of the Late Late Show called him to apologize.

The saga began on Monday when McNally, who has a history of kicking celebrities out of his exclusive restaurants, claimed Corden had misbehaved on several occasions at his former restaurant Cafe Luxembourg and left one server “cracked”.

McNally then posted two separate examples of Corden’s “extremely unpleasant” behavior at French restaurant Balthazar.

The 71-year-old began his post by calling the funnyman a “very talented comedian” before moving on to Corden.

The furious owner said he “86’d” – banned – the star and claims Corden found a hair in his main course when he dined there in June, before demanding free drinks for the mistake.

Revoke: Four hours after announcing the ban to his 87,000 Instagram followers, McNally immediately reversed it, saying he had received a call from Corden apologizing.

In the second incident, McNally claims Corden dined with his wife, Julia Carey, at the diner on October 9 for breakfast.

He says Corden asked for a table outside and wife Carrie ordered an egg yolk omelette with salad. The couple complained to the server that there was “a bit of egg white mixed in with the egg yolk” and sent the dish back.

McNally added: “The kitchen reworked the dish but unfortunately it was sent with home fries instead of salad.

“Then James Corden started yelling like crazy at the server, ‘You can’t do your job!’ You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen myself and make an omelette!”

Corden will not be staying on The Late Late Show after his contract expires next year – a decision that was made earlier this year, long before the Balthazar saga.
