Joe Biden – the transsexual said in an interview TikTok star that states should not have the authority to regulate any health care related to the transition of a person from one gender to another.

The president condemned Republican states that have passed laws that attempt to ban or limit gender reassignment surgeries and transition treatments — such as hormone blockers — for children who identify as nonbinary or transgender.

On Friday, Biden spoke to a panel of six progressive activists at a NowThis News presidential forum that aired Sunday. One of the six participants in the discussion was TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney which documents their transition from male to trans-female.

Asked whether red states should have the right to pass laws restricting access to gender-affirming treatments, Biden said, “I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that.”

“As a moral issue, as well as a legal one, I just think it’s wrong,” the president added.

“Sometimes they try to block your access to certain medications, your ability to access certain procedures, and so on,” he continued, referring to Republican-led state bills that would bar doctors from administering such treatments, especially to minors.

“I mean, no state should be able to do that, in my opinion. So I think very, very strongly that you should have every right to be alone, including using your gender identity in public.”

Earlier this year, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and Arizona introduced laws and policies that limit youth access to sex-reassignment treatment, care and surgery. In some cases, these laws impose penalties on adults who facilitate access to this care.

Mulvaney began transitioning to female earlier this year.

“Today is the 222nd day of being a girl. I’m in Washington, D.C., and I’m going to the White House to talk to the President of the United States,” Mulvaney said on TikTok from a hotel room, wearing a shirt that read, “Don’t mess with trans kids.”

“You know that line, ‘I think the girl was too close to the sun?’ “That’s how I feel today,” Mulvaney continued. “Because I get to sit down with Joe Biden and NowThis News and I get to ask him some questions related to transgender issues in the United States and talk to him about my transparency and I really just want to represent my community as best as I can .’

GOP lawmakers pushing legislation that would regulate gender-affirming surgeries and treatments say they are dangerous and can cause irreversible changes in young patients.

Much of the legislation in red states targets minors, not adults.

“I think it’s very important that we continue to talk about the basic fundamental rights of all people,” Biden said later in his conversation with Mulvaney.

“And the idea that what’s happening in some states, I won’t get into politics, but in some states it’s just outrageous and I think it’s immoral,” the president added. “The trans part is not immoral, what they are trying to do to trans people is immoral.”

As of this summer, 15 states have introduced at least two dozen bills that impose specific restrictions on “gender-affirming” surgeries or treatments. according to the Freedom for All Americans tracker.

Provisions of some of the proposed legislation include, but are not limited to, criminalizing health care providers who provide transgender treatment to minors, penalizing parents who help teens access that care, and limiting insurance coverage of gender confirmation services.

In some cases, allowing or assisting a child in treatment for the purpose of permanent gender reassignment is classified as child abuse.

The main initiative of the Republican Party is to ensure that no public funds are used for these services.
