Man seriously injured after four men attack in Portlaoise – The Irish Times

A man in his 40s was seriously injured after being attacked by a group of four in Ca Laois on Sunday morning.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the attack in Portlaoise last weekend.

The attack happened in Coote Street at around 1.20am last Sunday, a garda statement said.

The man was walking down Kut Street when a group of four men approached him and attacked him, the statement said.

He was seriously injured in the incident and is being treated at St James’s Hospital in Dublin for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in Coote Street between 1.20am and 1.30am on Sunday, in particular any road users who may have CCTV footage (including dash cams) to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100 , Garda confidential information Telephone 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
