E has unveiled new monthly home and cyber security subscription packages as the company says it wants to make digital security more accessible to the public.

The operator said customers will be able to purchase home security deals – including a home alarm system – and a cyber security package online to protect their devices through their existing EE monthly bill.

The company said its own research showed that people are increasingly aware of and interested in improving home and cyber security, and that there is a public appetite for subscription-based security products that come with professional installation, which is why the company decided to enter the market.

The expansion of the monthly offering starts with EE Smart Home Security, which launches on Wednesday in partnership with security firm Verisure and costs £25 a month for flats and £30 a month for houses, along with a one-off £50 upfront fee, which will see users get a complete 24-hour alarm system with 24-hour monitoring and a range of sensors to ensure smart home security.

Members of the Home Package will also be able to purchase additional premium components, including smart doorbells and cameras, to further enhance their security.

We know the security market is very important to UK consumers and we see huge opportunities to help customers protect their home and digital life

Then in November, EE confirmed it would launch a monthly cyber security deal in partnership with internet security giant Norton.

Initially offered to existing EE customers, it will offer antivirus protection and alerts to users if their personal information is found on the dark web.

EE said it will also launch a free annual online security check on its website to help customers find out if their personal information has been leaked online.

The company confirmed that it will release more details on the packages, pricing and features of the cyber security packages in the coming weeks.

EE Chief Executive Mark Alera said: “The launch of EE Security is the latest example of how we are transforming the EE brand by introducing new ways to deliver exciting products and services to our customers that improve their in- and out-of-home experience.

“We know the security market is very important to UK consumers and see huge opportunities to help customers protect their home and digital lives.

“In addition to partnering with these security leaders, we will also be separately exploring how connectivity can play a role in the very latest innovations, from smart drone defense and Wi-Fi to smart security robotics, artificial intelligence and more. otherwise, the future awaits reasonable security.”
