Sgt Green said: “Lewis was taken to hospital following a single vehicle collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta in the Cardonaghy Road area shortly before 11.40pm on Friday. Unfortunately, he died soon after.
“Two other young people, a boy and a girl, who were also in the car at the time, received injuries that are not life-threatening at the moment.
“A 17-year-old boy, arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, was released on bail pending further investigation.
“Our inquiries are continuing and the collision investigation unit is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or who saw the blue Ford Fiesta before the collision, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2165. 21/10 /22″.
