This is the horrifying moment a woman wielding a pickaxe smashed the windows of a Pasadena home inches away from a newborn baby.

Beverley Baker, 65, was caught on camera wielding a weapon during the horrific attack as she returned home several times in California.

The newborn’s grandmother watched as the attacker smashed into the building with a pickaxe and nearly smashed the glass all over her six-week-old granddaughter.

It happens in the middle a sharp increase in crime in Los Angelestotal violent crime rose 4.2 percent.

Arman Choukadaryan said he felt the family had “lost their safe place” as a result of the incident.

She managed to get the child out of the window before it shattered before Baker returned to the scene.

– said Chukadaryan KTLA: “If my mother-in-law had not acted as quickly as she did, my daughter would not be here.

“She broke one window, went back. My mother-in-law came out shouting and screaming to get my attention.

“The police found her walking nonchalantly with the pickaxe on her back, as if she had just finished working with it.”

Chukadaryan said his family was traumatized by the ordeal, adding: “She needs to be in the right place to get the right help.

“That’s no excuse to attack someone’s family, someone’s newborn and destroy their dream home, destroy their life and their sanity.”
