Detectives in Lisburn are appealing for information after arson was reported in Millbrook Walk last night (Friday).

A police spokesman said: “Shortly after 10.20pm a house fire was reported in Millbrook Walk. A woman inside the home was reported to have jumped out of a window to escape the fire, injuring her leg. This attack could have caused serious harm to both the resident of the home and her neighbors, so we are investigating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life.

“Fortunately, our colleagues at Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were able to extinguish the fire before it spread; however there was significant damage to the front door of the property.’ Today, we are continuing our investigation to determine the motive behind this reckless attack. I am appealing to anyone who was on Millbrook Walk between 10pm and 10.20pm last night and who may have noticed any suspicious activity to contact us.’
