The Duchess of Sussex’s father, Thomas Markle, was hospitalized after a stroke.
He was taken to hospital early Tuesday morning.
Carl Larsen, who has a YouTube channel with Mr. Markle, confirmed the news to the PA news agency.
Last month, the 77-year-old Mr Markle said he planned to fly to the UK in June for the Queen’s platinum anniversary in hopes of seeing his separated daughter and grandchildren, whom he had never met, Archie and Lilibet.
He told GB News that he has the right to meet with his grandchildren, adding: “I would like to meet with Prince Charles and thank him for guiding my daughter down the aisle as well as meet and talk to him because I think that we have a lot now is common. Our children were pretty much ghosts. ”
Mr Markle also criticized Harry and Megan for not taking Archie and Lilibet with them when they visited the Queen this month before their appearance at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
“Not bringing the kids was like another slap in the face to the Queen,” he said.
“It was very rude and wrong. It doesn’t make any sense … I don’t know if it’s Megan or Harry, but the Queen should have every right to see her great-grandchildren and I should have a right to see her grandchildren.”
Personal letters and court battles
A few days before the couple’s wedding in 2018, it turned out that Mr. Markle staging photos of the paparazzi himself.
Eventually, he was unable to come to the wedding as he recovered after heart surgery – and his relationship with Sussex became more and more difficult.
Mr Markle also said he hoped to face Megan and her “red-haired husband” in court as part of a defamation lawsuit filed by the Duchess’s half-sister.
In court documents, she claims that Megan made a “false and vicious lie” about her during an interview with Oprah Winfrey from Sussex and in her biography Finding Freedom.
Samantha Markle said it had subjected her to “humiliation, shame and hatred around the world”.
Mr Markle sided with his eldest daughter and said he would be “delighted” if he could protect her.
In her interview, Oprah Megan said she was the only child and saw her half-sister only a few times during her childhood.
