Since then, it has been copied many times.

Marge Simpson copied the look, as did models Andrej Pejic and Ashley Smith.

In the March 2015 issue of Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lawrence pays homage to the look as she strips down to recreate the look.

Earlier this month, Lizzo opened up about her stunning looks.

The person said she thinks it’s “political” to wear skimpy outfits.

The About Damn Time hitmaker, whose real name is Melissa Vivian Jefferson, has called it “feminist” to respect her body in whatever she wants to wear while performing on stage.

The 34-year-old rapper told Vanity Fair: “I wanted to be like a dancer, and in my eyes, it was kind of political and feminist for me, a full-figured dancer, to put on a leotard and show off and celebrate my curves and be an Olympian in strength and endurance and flexibility”.

The Face cited references such as Josephine Baker, who was famous for her banana skirts in the 20s, explaining that the effort should “evolve from generation to generation”.

She said: “Movements have to evolve from generation to generation. Culture is changing. The traffic in 1920 cannot be the same as in 2020. We must meet the rebellion. Rebellion is not even the same.”

The Grammy winner – who appeared on Instagram Live in the summer of 2021 in tears about the racism and fatphobia she experienced online two days after the release of her Cardi B joint album ‘Rumours’ – says whether online hate can spread ‘like a virus ***** ” as she pondered why the incident really upset her.

Face said: “People have been calling me fat my whole life, but this is the first time I’ve seen an insult about how I look, who I am and my music all rolled into one, and it really hurts. And if one person says it, then another person says it, it multiplies like a ***** virus. When enough people online start echoing your sentiments, it becomes part of your public persona and out of your control.”

The “Good As Hell” hitmaker hopes to be a role model to help others dealing with online hate to “get over it”.

“I’ve been in glam so many times when I’ve been sad about something, whether it’s romantic or someone’s died or something in the news, and I get excited and I’m like, ‘I need to take a break, so that I will cry and ruin my make-up.’ I had to go and do my job. So I went to the bathroom to cry about it, then I went online because once I learn how to express myself, I need to tell this person how I really feel. I know I’m not the only person who experiences extreme negativity thrown at them from the internet – there are people in high school right now that the whole school is talking about and they don’t know how they’re going to get through it. So if they see me going through it at the level and scale that I’m going through, maybe they’ll think they can go through it too.”
