Athletic: Reviewing each team and selecting one player to trade.

  • Anaheim Ducks – John Klingberg – Can the Ducks be first?
  • Arizona Coyotes – Shayne Gostisbehere – Could be a nice rental addition for someone.
  • Boson Bruins – Craig Smith – Will need to move salary eventually.
  • Buffalo Sabers – Vinny Hinostroza – may lose that ice time to some youngsters.
  • Calgary Flames – Oliver Kylington – Can afford to move him for forward help.
  • Carolina Hurricanes – Ethan Bear – Will sell him short now.
  • Chicago Blackhawks – Patrick Kane – Can the Blackhawks flip the deadline and then re-sign him?
  • Colorado Avalanche – Martin Kaut – Might need a change of scenery.
  • Columbus Blue Jackets – Gustav Nyquist – If they can pull this off, they could move on at the deadline.
  • Dallas Stars – Anton Khudobin – Unlikely to make the Stars lineup.
  • Detroit Red Wings Olli Maata is on a one-year deal, and a contender could be looking for a defenseman to quit at the deadline.
  • Edmonton Oilers – Jesse Puljujarvi – They will need to move some salary at some point.
  • Florida Panthers – Patrik Hornqvist – could take a sweetener to add to his 5.3 million hit.
  • Los Angeles Kings – Sean Walker – If he can recover from knee surgery, he could get some teams interested.
  • Minnesota Wild – Matt Dumbo is a pending UFA that has been rumored for years.
  • Montreal Canadiens – Evgeny Dodonov – His value will increase if he plays well and the Canadiens can save salary to increase returns.
  • Nashville Predators – Eeli Tolvanen – May need a change of scenery.
  • New Jersey Devils – Damon Severson is a right fielder and free agent.
  • New York Islanders – Anthony Bavillier – Hard to say what his trade value is.
  • New York Rangers – Kaapo Kakko – If they want to add a big piece before the deadline, he can be used as bait.
  • Ottawa Senators – Nikita Zaitsev – It won’t be easy to move your salary.
  • Philadelphia Flyers – James van Riemsdyk – Pending UFA and Flyers can retain salary.
  • Pittsburgh Penguins – Pierre-Olivier Joseph – could be used to help the Penguins add in another area.
  • San Jose Sharks – Nick Bonino is a defensive center who can contribute some offense.
  • Seattle Kraken – Joonas Donskoi – Pending UFA who should generate some interest.
  • St. Louis Blues – Klim Kostin – Probably wouldn’t get much for him.
  • Tampa Bay Lightning – Cal Foote – Could be used as a piece at the deadline to do it again.
  • Toronto Maple Leafs – Justin Hall – $2 million in salary and the Leafs may need cap space at the deadline.
  • Vancouver Canucks – Michael DiPietro – His agent asked to have a chance to talk to others this offseason.
  • Vegas Golden Knights – Phil Kessel – If Vegas isn’t in the hunt, he could be used to recoup some draft assets.
  • Washington Capitals – Lars Eller – could be expendable if their young players work with him.
  • Winnipeg Jets – Brandon Dillon – They are on the blue line and he will be very interesting.
