My Jama Reportedly in talks to hold The BRIT Awards in February 2023.

If chosen, Maya would become the first solo host of the annual music awards ceremony held in London since Kat Deeley presented it in 2004.

However, the BRITs, which take place on February 11, could clash with Love Island’s winter series in South Africa, which it will host in the new year.

Last year, Masked Singer judge Mo took over from Jack Whitehall, who stepped down from the BRITs after four years at the awards.

It comes after it was announced that Maya will host the first of two series of Love Island, which will be filmed in South Africa from early 2023.

In a statement, Maia said: “I’ve always been a huge Love Island fan and am thrilled to be hosting one of the nation’s favorite shows! I can’t wait to get to the villa to meet all the islanders.’

Both Maya and Love Island shared a video of her scrolling through stories about her being a rumored host on various media outlets to confirm the news.

The Love Island account shared: “Ok the rumors are true. Say hi to your new host #LoveIsland @mayajama!”

Maya wrote in the comments section: SO EXCITED. TAKE ME TO THIS ISLAND. ❤️’

Fans seemed to think she was the perfect choice to replace Laura.

They immediately tweeted: “Mya Jama will make a great Love Island host.”

“My Jama is hosting Love Island and she’s going to be hotter than any of the girls on the actual show.”

Director of Reality Programming & Acquisitions Paul Mortimer said: “Finding a new host to follow the wonderful Laura Whitmore has never been easy.

Laura announced in August this year that she was leaving the show and would not be hosting the next series of the ITV2 dating show.

The 37-year-old Irish host joined back in 2020 and hosted the hugely popular reality show and its spin-off series Aftersun for three series.
