The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in a coral coat dress when she teamed up Prince Edward and Countess of Wessex hold a party in the garden at Buckingham Palace.

The trio replaced the 96-year-old Queen, who traditionally hosts four garden parties each summer, but has resigned this year due to ongoing mobility issues.

The annual garden parties, held between Buckingham Palace and Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, are a way for the monarch to celebrate and reward those who have distinguished themselves in public service, and require the royal lords to spend more than an hour on their feet as they make their way through the crowd.

It came a day after Her Majesty’s unexpected appearance at the opening of the Elizabeth Line at Paddington Station in London after her absence at the opening of the state parliament last week.

The Queen, who will celebrate her platinum anniversary next month, is increasingly looking forward to high-ranking members of the royal family, including Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William, who will represent her at high events.

Today it is the turn of the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, who is one of the Queen’s most trusted persons.

The 40-year-old Kate looked perfectly calm when she joined Wessex on the steps of the palace before going down to the lawn to greet guests.

The Duchess of Cambridge chose the coral version of the Emilia Wickstead coat dress, which she wore several times. The lovely knee-length dress has long sleeves, a sharp collar and a ribbon at the waist to emphasize Kate’s slender body.

Demonstrating her love of color blocking, Kate combined the product with pink suede boat shoes and added a hat of the appropriate shade. She completed the image with a metal clutch, which brought a touch of brilliance.

Meanwhile, Sophie was usually elegant in a white dress with a pink-purple floral pattern. The Countess of Wessex combined midi with a white hat and simple neutral shoes.

This is the first time garden parties have been held since 2019 after they were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the Queen’s absence, which was announced last week, royal expert Angela Levin said: “It’s a good decision for the Queen not to attend garden parties because there will be too many people.” But what a shame.

The annual Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, started in the 1860s by Queen Victoria, is a way to recognize and reward public service and see people from all walks of life drinking tea on the lawn to the sounds of a military band.

Every year the Queen invites 30,000 people to the party, and in 2018 8,000 guests attended the first evening of the season. Each Garden Party consumes about 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 pieces of cake.

On this occasion, men are asked to wear morning dresses or suits for the holiday, and women – “day dress, usually with hats or styles.”

This year also saw the annual garden party of the Not Forgotten Association, which took place on May 12 and was hosted by Princess Anna, the patron saint of the charity.

The Not Forgotten Association provides entertainment, recreation and leisure for the wounded, wounded and sick, as well as for ex-servicemen and women with disabilities.

The garden party for the organization, which will also be held at Buckingham Palace, will bring together more than 2,000 beneficiaries of all ages and from all services.
