This is the light-hearted moment four giggling ladies on Blackpool’s Morecambe and Wise canal danced for joy in reaction to Boris Johnson’s resignation.
The four women were approached by a BBC reporter who was vox-popping members of the public after Prime Minister Boris Johnson decided to step down.
Mr Johnson finally announced he was leaving his post yesterday. In a statement to Downing Street, the Prime Minister tried to maintain an upbeat tone, confirming that his MPs “clearly” want change and that his tenure will end when a new Tory leader is appointed.
And the four women who were told the news while filming on Blackpool’s seafront left one cheering, one woman left open-jawed in shock and another in disbelief saying: “He’s gone?!”
The reporter asked the ladies: “You want to be in the pub again, don’t you?”, and one responded with an emphatic yes.
And as they moved away from the camera, they danced like Marcombe and Wise, changing their hands from behind their heads to behind their backs.
Another hilarious vox-pop moment following yesterday’s news of Mr Johnson’s departure was when a man described Boris Johnson as a “pain in the a**” to a BBC TV reporter.
Newsnight editor Sima Katecha headed to the fringe Conservative seat of Reading West to get an idea of the atmosphere following the resignation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson
Ms Kotecha stops a man on a scooter with a cigarette dangling from his mouth before asking: “What do you think of Boris Johnson resigning today?” The man immediately takes the cigarette in his hand and says: “I want him to go.” He is a pain in the ass
The footage then cuts to his friend, who says of Boris: “He’s an idiot. He can’t do anything right. Is it on TV?’

The footage then cuts to his friend, who says of Boris: “He’s an idiot. He can’t do anything right. Is it on TV?’ It’s funny that someone tweeted about the clip: “Man on his kick scooter. Can we take him into the office?
This is the hilarious moment a young woman who had no idea about Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resignation was told live on TV
Erin May Denny, from Leeds, was similarly approached by a BBC reporter looking for members of the public to comment on the news of the Prime Minister’s resignation – but she was none the wiser.
In response to the reporter, Ms. Denny said: “I didn’t even know he had resigned. I just finished work, so. Well, I guess that’s the good news for today.
Her nonchalance, as well as her northern accent, was loved by many on Twitter, where her clip was shared by a user who wrote alongside the message: ‘Thinking of this queen.’
In the responses, users described her as a “cult star” and described her relaxed attitude towards life as carefree and that she had a “bad bitch attitude”.
Ms Denny responded to the video, which now has more than 2.6 million views on social media, joking: “Hey look mum I’m on TV.”
In the responses, users described her as a “cult star”, her laid-back attitude towards life as carefree and her “bad bitch attitude”.
Another user said: “This is how I’m going to live from now on.” To hell with a big glass.’
One even went so far as to say she should replace Boris Johnson: “She should be the next Prime Minister,” he wrote on Twitter.
