She was once Australia’s golden girl, appearing in a number of popular films such as Heath Ledger’s romantic drama Candy, Somersault, Bright Star and Infinity.

But Abbie Cornish seems to have dropped off the radar over the past few years after leaving Australia in 2017 for the bright lights of Hollywood and attempting a full-fledged rap career under the mysterious moniker ‘MC Dusk’.

Abby was last seen in American Family’s Dakota, a touching film about how a single mother and her daughter adopt a former service dog to live on their farm.

Dakota was released in limited theaters this April to little media attention and mediocre reviews.

Other recent projects include the 2021 film Virtuoso, in which Abby co-starred with Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, and the 2019 Australian drama series The Secret Affairs of Bridesmaids.

Despite its stardom, the crime thriller received generally unfavorable reviews and has an approval rating of just 19% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Diversity film critic Peter Debrugge praised the film, writing, “It’s a shame to see so many talented actors wasted on such an amateurish production, the title of which gives the whole thing a pathetic touch of irony.”
