Two people are wanted by police after breaking into a shipping container and stealing thousands of pounds worth of batteries.

The two suspects were caught on CCTV breaking into a locked container and stealing batteries for John Deere vehicles.

The batteries, stolen from a property on Pump Lane in Framfield near Uckfield, are valued at around £5,000.

Footage taken at the scene shows two hooded men near a cargo container.

Police are now looking for two suspects in connection with the incident, which happened at around 6.10pm on Friday 16 December.

The force is keen to hear from anyone who has been offered a John Deere car battery or has seen someone selling a pair of car batteries, particularly in East Sussex.
