She-Hulk: The Lawyer trailer shows star Tatiana Maslany adjusting to balancing her new powers

There’s a new green superhero headed to the Marvel-verse, and her name is Jennifer Walters, an everyday lawyer, crime fighter at night or at any time.

36-year-old Tatsiana Maslany starred in the main character of the Disney+ series.

A new trailer for the action comedy was released Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.

At a panel discussion for the show, the Canadian actress, best known for her many clone roles on Orphan Black, said the character is not a typical superhero.

“What’s so exciting about She-Hulk is that it’s a completely different show. This is irreverent humor. The Hulk is trying not to be a superhero.”

The trailer begins with a sleeping Jennifer being awakened by a buzzer used by her cousin, the Hulk.

Backstory: Jennifer inherited superhuman strength and the color green when she received a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk.

With her newly acquired powers and 6’7″ height, Jennifer longs to return to her days as an anonymous lawyer, but instead she becomes much more famous and is hired by a firm that specializes in cases involving superhumans.

The trailer gives a glimpse of who Jeanne-Hulk will be up against, including Jamila Jamil as Titania, a super-powered rival, and Tim Roth as bad guy Abomination. Benedict Wong reprises his role as Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme from the Doctor Strange franchise.

A teaser trailer for the show was released in May, and many fans expressed their disappointment with the CGI, but were sympathetic to the addition of the She-Hulk character, with one fan calling her “the new face of the MCU.”

The first of nine episodes will debut on August 17 on Disney+.
