A suspected flinger was shot dead on a nudist beach after pleasuring himself in front of a naked woman, French police said.
Witnesses described the 46-year-old victim as an “exhibitionist” who insulted and threatened beachgoers at the Grand Parc Miribel-Jonage on the outskirts of Lyon.
After the sexual act, he got into a heated argument with the 76-year-old nudist, who reportedly demanded they leave La Mama beach and fight elsewhere.
When the younger man refused, the pensioner pulled out a shotgun and shot him three times, including in the chest, detectives said.
He died of his wounds on the beach, where hundreds of nudists flocked as temperatures reached 30C.
According to France3, the gunman was a frequent beachgoer and hunting enthusiast who had a firearms license.
Eyewitnesses said he did not resist arrest when security officers arrived at the scene. It remains unclear why he allegedly brought a rifle to the naturist beach.
Detectives from the Gendarmerie of Trevo have started an investigation into the murder.
The person claimed was believed to be from Lyon and had made a short trip to the beauty spot on Saturday morning.
The large park of Miribel-Jonage is a series of lakes and shingle beaches surrounded by trees and meadows, which becomes popular with nudists in the summer.
