Emergency services were called to Moss Bank Way and an ambulance was raised.

The victim was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said at the time: “GMP received a call at approximately 3.35pm today, Friday 17 March 2023, to reports of a road traffic collision on Moss Bank Way, Astley Bridge in Boltonbetween a vehicle and a pedestrian.

“Colleagues from NWAS, GMFRS and Helimed attended, taking the injured to hospital.

“Moss Bank Way is closed in both directions to Blackburn Road and Broadwater Lane while investigations continue.”

The latest from traffic information website INRIX reads: “The A58 Moss Bank Way Eastbound is closed due to an accident between Thorns Close and Asda. Sensors indicate the westbound is now open again.”
