This is the moment Nadhim Zahavi handed over a note to Liz Truss informing her of the dramatic events with the Queen’s health in the House of Commons.

The pair can be seen on footage having a heated conversation on the government’s front bench, just minutes after the Prime Minister presented her energy bailout plan to MPs.

Mr Zahavi, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster – the portfolio of lands, property and assets held by the Queen – quietly entered the room as the debate continued and took a seat next to the Prime Minister.

Ms Truss, who was appointed Prime Minister by the Queen just two days ago in a hand-kissing ceremony, looked surprised.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer was also informed by his deputy Angela Raynerand the rumor spread rapidly through the House and Parliament.

Shortly afterwards, the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, told MPs: “I know I speak for the whole House when I say that we send our best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen and that she and the Royal Family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time moment moment”.

Close members of the royal family raced to Balmoral to be close to the monarch.

Prime Minister: “The whole country will be deeply concerned about Her Majesty”

Prime Minister Liz Truss said: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

“My thoughts – and those of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this time.”

Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle head to the Queen’s bedside to join the guard, led by Prince Charles, Camilla and his son Prince William.

Her Majesty’s children and grandchildren rushed to Balmoral after doctors revealed they were “concerned” about the monarch’s health and were keeping her under medical supervision.

The 96-year-old monarch is described as “comfortable” after being examined by doctors this morning, hours after she was advised to rest and not attend a Privy Council meeting last night.

A royal spokesman said: “Following further assessment this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned about Her Majesty’s health and have advised her to remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable at Balmoral.’

Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward are believed to be with their mother. Prince Andrew is believed to have been among seven members of the royal family on the plane from RAF Northolt in London to Aberdeen, along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, stayed behind and was spotted in Windsor picking up George, Charlotte and Louis after they spent their first day at their new school.

Her “close relatives” have been informed, Buckingham Palace revealed that her heir, the Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are rushing to her bedside from their Scottish home in Birchhall – about 10 miles from Balmoral.

The Duke of Cambridge then flew in from Windsor to be with the 96-year-old monarch. But his wife Kate is staying at Adelaide’s cottage as George, Charlotte and Louis spend their first full day at school today.

All the Queen’s children are rushing to Balmoral with Princess Anne, who is already there after her engagement in Scotland this week.

The Duke of York, Earl and Countess of Wessex are also traveling in one of the royal family’s helicopters, which landed on the grounds this afternoon.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were due to attend the WellChild Awards in London tonight, but the couple changed their plans at 11am and are heading to Aberdeenshire, their spokesman confirmed, as millions of Britons and Her Majesty’s subjects around the world pray for her recovery.

A statement about the monarch’s health is extremely rare and indicates a very serious situation.

Ms Truss said “the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunch”, adding that “my thoughts – and those of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this time”.

Yesterday, the Queen was forced to postpone a meeting of the Privy Council at the last moment on the advice of doctors. After a busy day on Tuesday, during which she welcomed Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to Balmoral, as well as other light duties, the 96-year-old monarch was told to rest.

And today Buckingham Palace revealed that medics had been taken to Balmoral following the problems this morning.

Practically last night, she was due to hold a Privy Council during which the new Prime Minister will be sworn in as First Lord of the Treasury and Cabinet ministers will be sworn in and become Privy Councillors, unless one has already been appointed in the past.
