MarBella Nido Suite Hotel & Villas, located in the southeast of the Greek island of Corfu, is a place of complete tranquility amidst lush scenery. The hotel’s ambiance and weather allow you to see lavender bushes adorning the walkways, scents of jasmine, olive and citrus trees wafting through the air, and pink bougainvillea cascading down the archways leading to the rooms. The design also ensures that guests can catch a glimpse of the magical Ionian Sea from any angle.

Opened almost five years ago, the hotel combines the heritage of Corfi as well as Italian design. It looks like a pristine postcard of Amalfi, painted in muted tones and topped with terracotta tiled roofs that flow down to the coast.

An adults-only resort, you’ll be treated to total relaxation with a combination of five-star service, incredible sea views, private pools and luxurious interiors.

Rooms with a view

Nido comes from the Italian word for nest, and each room is truly a nest for the beholder. Depending on your preferences, choose between deluxe or junior suite rooms with their own jacuzzi or pool. My room had the latter and I loved being able to take a dip in the morning before breakfast or jump in for a midnight swim before bed.

Inside, the rooms are spacious, modern and comfortably furnished. I especially liked that the shower had a glass wall which meant you could look out over the ocean and had the added bonus of getting ready for bed in the evening.

Eat and drink

Every meal in Marbella Nido glamorous. Since it’s adults only, it’s always a relaxed atmosphere. Even breakfast is a smart and sophisticated affair with table service and an impressively varied buffet.

The hotel’s open-air Apaggio restaurant offers sumptuous Greek cuisine with ocean views. Elsewhere in the hotel there is the opportunity to try unique experiences such as wine tasting – the selection of different wines we tried were from Greece and Europe beyond.

If you intend to travel further afield, arrange for golf buggies to take you to the famous sister hotel MarBella Nido, Marbella Corfu, located very close. MarBella Corfu is also five-star, but family-oriented; and not just for adults. At MarBella Corfu you will find Italian, French and Pan-Asian restaurants, as well as nightly entertainment.

Marbella Nido Beach

Daily activities

At MarBella Nido, the focus is on well-being. There are plenty of ways to unwind, including spa treatments, heading to the hotel’s fitness center for a workout, lounging by the infinity pool, or sitting and enjoying some alone time on your spacious balcony.

Alternatively, you can go to a pebbly, rather than sandy, beach. Although the beach seems separate from the rest of the hotel – it’s across the street – it’s the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. There are even service buttons on the sunbeds, so no matter where you are, the staff is ready to give you whatever you need.

MarBella Nido also organizes water sports, boat trips and walking tours of Corfu Old Town, which is less than 40 minutes away. The road to the Old Town is picturesque and follows the coastal road. Along the way, you can spot spectacular mountains, attractive Greek signs and the intriguing small islands of Vida and Maus off Corfu. You can spend hours wandering the charming cobbled streets of the Old Town and discover the history of Corfu, from the Venetian, French and British periods.
