A man was shot and killed on a nude beach in France after he allegedly shouted insults at people and performed a sexual act.
A 46-year-old man was shot dead on La Mama beach in Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage on the outskirts of Lyon at 10.30am local time on Saturday.
A 76-year-old man shot him dead after he shouted insults at other beachgoers and began to pleasure himself by staring at a woman, French police said.
The men argued and the elderly nudist pulled out a hunting rifle and fired “at least three shots”, one of which hit the other in the chest.
The gunman was believed to be an avid hunter who had a firearms license, but it was unclear why he took the weapon to the beach, France3 later reported.
According to the French broadcaster, his permit does not allow him to carry weapons freely.
Officers are investigating the incident and have launched a homicide investigation.
The victim is believed to have lived in Lyon and made a short trip to the beach on Saturday.
