Lisa McCune reunites with former Blue Heelers co-star John Wood for new comedy-drama series – after the actress dropped out of the spotlight

Lisa McCune is returning to the small screen.

The Australian actress, 51, will reunite with her former Blue Heelers co-star John Wood, 75. TV tonight reported on Saturday.

The pair are set to star in the Wood-penned comedy-drama Home to Roost, though there’s no word yet on whether it’s been picked up by the network.

Despite being one of Australia’s most loved stars, Lisa has largely stayed out of the limelight for the past few years after being spotted kissing her Teddy co-star Taha Rhodes in 2012.

At the time the kiss hit the headlines, it was reported that Lisa was still married to her husband Tim Disney, with whom she has three children.

In an interview with Stellar magazine, Lisa talked about why she began to hide her personal life away from the public eye.

She explained: “Over the last couple of years, I’ve made a decision that even though my children are teenagers – and I feel very strongly about this – my story affects their stories.

Lisa married Tim in 2000 and they have children Archer, 21, Oliver, 18, and Remy, 17.

The Sydney-born star rose to fame at the age of 22 in the TV series Blue Heelers and most recently appeared in the comedy How to Stay Married alongside Peter Hellier.
