Grimes shares snap of her bandaged face after revealing she wants ‘elf ear surgery’

Grimes admitted she “did something crazy” when she showed off her bandaged face in a selfie on Saturday at Twitter after previously expressing a desire to obtain “elf ear modifiers”.

The 34-year-old musician, born Claire Boucher, wore no make-up as she lay with her eyes closed in a blue hospital gown.

While it’s unclear what kind of work she actually had done, fans were quick to speculate and guessed that she had “elf ears” after she expressed her desire to get modifiers.

She wrote: “I did something crazy!” and later shared a lengthy tweet explaining how she performed her “last song at the plastic surgery clinic.”

She wrote: “The album is ready, we are mixing. My friend and I perfected the last song at the plastic surgery clinic because they wouldn’t let me go, and we laughed about it being the most Hollywood moment of all time.

Last month, Grimes teased her desire to purchase “elf ear modifiers” and asked her fans for medical advice.

She said: “I made an appointment with a great plastic surgeon two years ago, thought I’d want to change something by my mid-30s but then forgot and never really thought about what to do.

“Did you do the ears?” She captioned the post: “I did something crazy!” and later shared a lengthy tweet explaining how she performed her “last song at the plastic surgery clinic”

“Do you think any face changes would look good on me?” (Elf Ears is not an option, it’s a separate quest).’

In another tweet, she shared her interest in purchasing “vampire tooth caps” in either Los Angeles or Austin, Texas.

She also asked her fans to recommend someone to do the elf ear modification, but added: “I’m still debating the surgery because the cartilage doesn’t heal so it needs permanent stitches.”

“I’m also less interested in conventional beauty (I’ll keep my nose),” she added, before asking her fans for recommendations on procedures she could do, noting that her plastic surgeon is Dr. Chia Chi Kao.

She admitted she was “scared” of the procedure and the possibility of affecting her “ear cartilage” which could be “risky” as “music”, although she “wanted it [her] All life.’ Grimes previously reported in 2012 that she had developed tinnitus, a constant ringing in the ears that can be caused by exposure to loud sounds.

But Elon, with whom she shares her children with the confusingly named X Æ A-12 and Exa Dark Sideræl, jumped into her responses on Tuesday, suggesting that “the downside of the elven ear operation probably outweighs the upside”.

Grimes didn’t fight him, instead admitting that “it sounds like a job for Crispr,” referring to a form of gene editing. “It’s a shame to be born a few generations earlier,” she lamented.

Grimes and Elon began their relationship back in 2018 and reportedly bonded after finding out they both came up with the same pun on Twitter.

The singer and electronic musician welcomed their son X Æ A-12 (pronounced Ex Ash A Twelve) on May 4, 2020, though they were later forced to change the name to X Æ A-Xii due to California naming laws.

The following September, Grimes revealed that they had “semi-separated”, although they were still living together while raising the child.

In January, she revealed that they were back together but “very mobile” and shared that they had a second child, Exa Dark Sideræl, via surrogate in December 2021. In March, the couple broke up again.
