Opening the packages, the brave heroes were surprised to find cute images of hearts, flowers and the Ukrainian flag.

The children even learned some Ukrainian and Russian letters to be able to write messages to other children in Ukraine.

“How wonderful,” says one soldier, opening one of the photos, while another adds, “Super nice!” A third can be heard repeating “wow” as they open the packages to find even more images and pictures.

Oliver Morley, 50, is the co-founder of Never Surrender UA, a group dedicated to supplying soldiers on the front line.

Thanks to the donations of the British, the immortal kit worth more than 1 million pounds has already been transported, including 600 body armor, 1000 helmets, 500 medical kits. But it was the pictures drawn by children in the special needs section of Penyrheol Comprehensive School in Swansea that really struck a chord.

Oliver said: “When they opened these pictures, they were just blown away. They couldn’t believe that these children had done this for them to take home to their children.”

A team from the Never Surrender UA group has been traveling across Ukraine delivering these vital supplies, as well as things like 4×4 vehicles, for the past few months since the invasion began.

And Oliver has been joined by hundreds of people across the UK trying to help the cause, including “brilliant Ukrainian girls packing and sorting kits in London” and “wonderful Welsh women doing the same in Wales and raising money and donations “.

The developer said everyone had their own full-time jobs and lives, but he knew everyone wanted to help Ukraine, adding: “You just have to pull up your socks and start working. British spirit and all that.

“When we deliver these packages, the guys—hardened guys—just melt when they see what we’ve brought.

“They don’t feel alone, it’s comforting to know that someone can be bothered to come all the way from England to try and do what we can.

“They say, ‘I feel like a lion, we can’t believe you’ve come.’
