It’s the latest in a series of nightmares for holidaymakers who regularly face long queues and flight cancellations.

Adolfo Laurenti posted a photo on Twitter of the large queue that had already formed today.

He said: “The security line is starting outside terminal 2 at #heathrowairport this morning. The emergency has been going on for weeks but here we are. The incompetence is just shocking.”

Heathrow Airport tweeted: “Good morning, we don’t have an exact queue time, but we recommend arriving 3 hours before your flight to allow you to clear security and any queues that may occur.”

The news comes amid a spate of flight cancellations that have left travelers penniless. Thirteen British Airways flights were canceled at the airport today – from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
