Beanie Feldstein took to Instagram on Sunday to announce that she will be leaving Funny Girl earlier than expected.

The 29-year-old actress posted a text message about her role as Fanny Brice after announcing last month that she would be leaving the Broadway gig in September.

“Playing Fanny Brice on Broadway has been a lifelong dream of mine and doing so over the past few months has been a great joy and a true honor,” she wrote to her nearly 600,000 followers.

“Once the production decided to take the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to leave earlier than expected,” she added.

“I will never forget this experience, and I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, every single person who came to August Wilson for the love and support you showed me and our wonderful cast and crew,” Binney continued.

She concluded: “The people with whom I have had the great pleasure of bringing Funny Girl to life every night, both on and off the stage, are all incredibly talented and exceptional people, and I hope you will continue to join them on Henry Street after I left. July 31.”

In August 2021, it was announced that Binney would play Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of Merry Girl.

Beanie made her starring debut at the August Wilson Theater in April to mixed reviews from critics.

The star told Booksmart last month that she and Bonnie Chance Roberts, 31, got engaged after proposing to each other surrounded by family and friends.

Beanie is said to have met Bonnie while working on the 2019 film How to Build a Girl, for which Bonnie was credited as a co-producer.

The film, currently in production, is based on the 1981 musical of the same name by Stephen Sondheim and George Firth, which was adapted from the 1934 play of the same name by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.
