BARTENDERS from Scotland raise a glass to success in duet competitions.

Sean Cavanagh of Edinburgh’s Panda & Sons has won the title of British Whiskey at the Naked Malt brand’s global bartending competition.

Now he and his colleague will take part in a “bar exchange” with bartenders from one of the other countries participating in the competition – South Korea, Taiwan, the USA and the Nordic countries.

The winners will also be judges for next year’s competition, which starts in November.

Meanwhile, the winners of the Scottish Beer & Pub Awards were also announced.

The Piper in Glasgow won Whiskey Bar of the Year and Matt McPherson of The Malt Room in Inverness was named ‘Whiskey Guru 2022’.

Glasgow’s Ga Ga was named restaurant of the year, while Deer Green Place’s Caffe Parma won casual dining.

The Commons Club at Virgin’s new premises in Edinburgh was named Hotel Bar of the Year, while the Clippens Inn in Linwood won Community Pub of the Year.

Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Cafe won bar of the year, while The Palais in Glasgow won pub of the year.
